Tech Sector hiring…..
Nearly half (49%) of UK of technology firms expect to hire additional staff over the next 12 months, according to the latest industry report from KPMG and Markit. The report shows that hiring by UK technology companies is close to its strongest for three years, with hiring intentions rising to 56, according to Markit’s purchasing manager’s index (PMI) for the first quarter of 2104. This is higher than the 53.7 for the UK private sector as a whole. Any figure above 50 indicates growth in hiring. “The latest survey suggests that the tech sector again outperformed the UK economy in terms of job creation, reflecting widespread optimism that workloads will continue to expand over the months ahead,” says Tim Moore, a senior economist at Markit. The buoyant mood in the technology sector was reflected in comments from Albert Ellis, Harvey Nash’s chief executive officer, who told Recruiter at the end of last week: “There has been a surge in digital demand.”
