Employment on the up!
The number of unemployed people fell by 63,000 in the quarter and by 191,000 on the year to reach 2.33m for November 2013 to January 2014.
The ONS adds that the number of people claiming jobseeker’s allowance in February fell by 34,600 to 1.17m. The unemployment rate now stands at 7.2%, with most of the fall being from men.
According to the ONS, there was a 32,000 fall in the number of part-time workers to 1.4m, as more people were able to find full-time jobs, although this is still 41,000 than at the same time in 2013.
