West of London – Circa £60k basic salary

Are you alert by nature and curious by intent? Are you a skilled talker and listener and know when it’s the right time to apply either? Can you play the leader and team member? That’s all contradictory. We know that. But we also know some of you will get it. If so, read on….

Our client bridges the divide between more run-of-the-mill research agencies and business consultants. They don’t just provide the numbers, but deliver deep insight that helps clients drive distinctive product development, sales and marketing. Neither stuffy nor formal, this organisation is full of bright professionals who seek self-improvement and space to get the job done.

We will be pleased to provide our clients company name to qualified candidates at the end of the first screening telephone interview.

This role is a hybrid to suit a bright chameleon with a child-like curiosity. Reporting to the International Head of Automotive Research, this role is within their Automotive team. You will work closely with the Head of Automotive Quantitative.

Your objective will be to manage and lead the Qualitative section of the Auto team, develop the individuals within, and support new business activities. You will develop client relationships, whilst owning and leading your own projects. It’s asking a lot. But we also know that the right candidates will relish the sheer variety and span of control.

And while your doing that, you’re also encouraging your team, and staying alert to surprises. You don’t like surprises. They’re best avoided.

You’ll challenge your team to deliver high quality insight. “Why?” is important – and so is “What?”!

It’s a long list, but you wouldn’t expect anything less. That’s not how you are:
Proposal writing – addressing clients business needs
Bright on pricing – It’s all about value
An expert in qualitative research. We mean “expert”
Multiple years’ research experience and a proper love for cars and the automotive sector
Experience in Automotive Research highly desirable
A deliberate coach and trainer
A knack for the creative and the ability to develop lively and engaging output and presentations
Team leadership – from the front, not from an office
Great with people
Ensuring the research approaches are insightful, creative and consistent
Active involvement in sales and commercial development
It’s all about a deep understanding of client needs. You question, dig and delve. You challenge the status quo. You’re certainly not argumentative, but you are curious if there’s a better way.

Our client’s modern offices are West of London. It’s a 40-hour week, but due to the nature of the work, it’s not always a predictable 9 to 5 existence, and there may be some international travel.

Base salary is not cast in stone, and depends on skills and experience, but is circa £60k plus a discretionary bonus based on company and team performance. There’s 25 days holiday, and healthcare and a matching pension scheme in place.

Two client interviews will be held, after a screening call and interview with Martin Ellis of the RSE Group.
